About the position
Our Client is seeking a trade qualified automotive electrician who identifies faults, installs, and repairs electrical wiring, radio installations, computer-based mining equipment, and related equipment.
This includes Excavators, trucks, LDV’s, trailers, agricultural equipment and earth-moving equipment.
Completed Trade Qualification (Automotive Electrician)
Minimum of 7 years experience within the field
- Valid Driver’s License
Product Knowledge (Auto Electrical products)
Knowledge of earth moving equipment, heavy equipment and trucks
Knowledge in performing preventive maintenance.
Knowledge of safety practices associated with vehicle maintenance
- Install electrical components and equipment such as gauges, lights, radios, alternators, starter motors and wiring looms.
- Service, identify and repair faults on electronically controlled machines such as electronic field systems, electronic gear selection, air-conditioning and monitoring systems and safety systems.
- Test the repaired parts/vehicles for safety, using special tools in order to ensure the proper operation and the effectiveness of maintenance activities
- Testing and replacing faulty alternators, generators, starter motors, magnetos and related items such as voltage regulators and batteries.
- Use of meters, diagnostic instruments, laptops and circuit diagrams to find electrical faults.
- Use of hand tools, specialised electrical tools, instruments and machines, including drills, grinders, presses lathes, etc
- Solder or weld when repairing electrical parts, sell and Install electrical parts and accessories
- Follow safety and protection instructions and rules at work and ensure the proper use of equipment and tools to prevent any possible danger.
