About the position

A well-established organization in Port Elizabeth is seeking an experienced telesales representative to join their team.

It would be required for the sucessful candidate to reside in PE, have a valid drivers licence and own transport. You would be required to communicate effectively, be highly motivated, reliable and enthusiastic.

Previous experience in a similar role within the FMCG, Hospitality, Catering and Food Distribution market would be advantageous.

Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook and PASTEL would be considerd to be a pre requisite to fulfil the job function effectively.

Working together with the sales representative in the area, the ideal candidate will be required to drive, promote and increase the current range of products to an existing customer base as well as cold call potential new customers to introduce the company and its products with the intention to convert them to customers.

Apart from the sales function it would also be required from the ideal candidate to gain an extensive knowledge of the markets and competitors in order to relay this information back to management to enable them to make informative decisions.

Your ability to work independantly as well as be a team player would definitely be an advantage and set you abreast of others.

Duties will include

  • Building and maintaining of relationships with customers both old and new.
  • Introduce, promote and sell products to a diverse customer base.
  • Calling on existing customers to maintain business and increase the product offering.
  • Calling on new customers to introduce the company and it's products to increase business within the area.
  • Following up on new leads and making appointments where neccesary.
  • Communication of competitor activity.
  • Loading of pricing contracts and orders.
  • Achieve sales budgets.
  • Achieve margin expectations.
  • Assistance with monthly stock takes.
  • Basic admin and housekeeping.

Customers would include but not be limited to the following:

  • Independent retail/Speciality stores.
  • Wholesale.
  • Food Service Distributors.
  • Hospitality and Catering customers.
  • Commercial/Industrial customers.
