About the position
Our client is seeking a dynamic Steam & Power Generation Engineer to join their Power Generation team. If you possess strong technical prowess and leadership skills, this is your chance to lead and motivate a high-performing team. The permanent role is based in the scenic South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
Main Purpose of the Job: As a key member of the Power Generation team, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager. Your primary responsibilities include leading and motivating the team, implementing robust maintenance strategies, and ensuring the efficient operation of power generation facilities.
Preferred Minimum Education and Experience:
- Formal Education: Tertiary Qualification (BSc or B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' plant experience in the sugar industry or a relevant engineering environment.
- Certification: Possession of or working towards a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) is preferable.
- Skills: General computing skills, excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, and a working knowledge of OHS Act, NOSA, and [URL Removed]
