About the position

Safety / Onboarding Officer

The SHEQ division within Knight Piésold is expanding and currently looking for a Safety / Onboarding Officer to join the team in our Sandton office.

Minimum Requirements:

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) coupled with an appropriate Occupational Health & Safety (or similar) certification or formal qualification.
• 3-5 Years' experience working as a Safety Officer
• Computer Literacy - Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Power Point or similar.
• Registered membership SACPCMP advantageous

Certified Training:

• First Aid
• Fire Fighting
• Risk Assessor
• HIRA Assessment
• Incident investigation

Key Responsibilities:

• Mining and Construction Health & Safety procedures
• Mining industry Onboarding procedures - Project related
• Compile Safety Files for projects and approve safety plans
• Risk assessments - Office and Projects site related requirements
• Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation
• Perform regular safety inspections
• Documenting incidents and investigations
• Maintaining compliance of all safety related procedures and processes
• Maintain Legal Register and relevant legislation
• Meet ISO 45001 & ISO14001 audit requirements
• Emergency response plans
• Enforce safety policies and procedures
• Provide information and documentation for company tender processes
• H&S Induction training for new staff
• Health and Safety related presentations
• Promote safety initiatives (staff activities)
• Manage PPE requests for staff
