Regional Operations Manager (RETAIL EXPERIENCE PREFERRED)
Based in Riversgate
R25K - R35K basic salary, (this INCLUDES a travel allowance)

Job Overview

A Regional Operational Manager is accountable and responsible for supporting, developing, and ensuring the success of designated branches. This includes oversight of stock and financial management, HR functions, the achievement of sales targets and budgets and execution of company initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ensure and support the implementation of day-to-day activities of the branch.
  • Perform regular assessments and audits, coupled with feedback and retraining/disciplinary action where necessary.
  • Oversight of all controllable costs and achievement of sales and other targets with an overall view of maintaining profitability of the branches.
  • Personnel management and HR duties, as well as oversight of the Branch Manager's personnel management and HR duties.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of the company assets within the branch.
  • Ensure the branches are always adequately staffed by:
  • Supporting recruitment
  • Approval of appropriate scheduling plans for staff.
  • Ensure that the Branch Managers are in line and developing their branch in areas such as:
  • Branch administration
  • Performance assessments, feedback & disciplinary action (where necessary).
  • Customer service
  • Product & department knowledge
  • Store maintenance
  • Execution of promotions
  • Execution of company initiatives
  • Ensure a strong system of inventory management is implemented and maintained, with specific focus on:
  • Ensuring adequate inventory levels of appropriate products in conjunction with procurement
  • Minimizing out of stocks in the branch
  • Ensuring stock counts are in line with group direction
  • Minimizing shrinkages and write-offs
  • Product range GP% targets are met
  • Seek ways to better promote the store, the product offerings and service within the store.
  • Develop and ensure maintenance of the store attractiveness, presentability & cleanliness.
  • Engage in regular workshops with branch management to drive sales, promotional performance, develop community projects and explore other sales initiatives.
  • Submit regular reports to head office with relation to these workshop targets and progress results.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Matric certificate
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office programs, specifically Outlook and Excel
Good level of skill on retail ERP programs
5-7 years retail management experience
