About the position

PROJECT ENGINEER (MECHANICAL/MECHATRONIC)

The key role of this position is the design and implementation of customer specific requirements in the marine field.
The successful applicant will hold a B-Tech or BSc in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering and will have at least 5 years of experience, preferably in subsea or navy engineering / offshore projects.
Hands on experience of verification and certification with organisations such as SANS, DNV, ABS, LRS etc will be a distinct advantage.
This is a permanent contract that requires international travel, applicants must be in possession of a valid passport and be free to travel internationally.

KEY TASKS:

• Mechanical / Structural design & drawings.
• Finite Element Analysis using SolidWorks Simulation.
• Design and draw process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's)
• Simple electrical design work.
• Development of engineering subsea procedures.
• Create engineering procedures, e.g. lift plans, sea fastening, design standards, etc.
• Manage manufacturing at subcontractors globally.
• Engineering project planning.
• Preform risk assessments and FMECA's.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Any experience with 3rd party design verification and certification agencies would be a distinct advantage.
• Project management of offshore projects.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of SharePoint and OneDrive would be an advantage.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of SolidWorks Simulation.
