About the position
We are recruiting for a High level qualified Electric construction project engineer with experience in Cabling, Substation, Overhead line and Renewable Energy technology and Construction
The minimum requirements for this position are:
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer
- Registration as a Professional Engineer / Technician will be advantageous
- Knowledge of Engineering Software
- Knowledge of Cabling, Substation, Overhead line and Renewable Energy technology and Construction
- Knowledge of cable accessories selection and specifications.
Responsibilties:
The Interpretation of the customer tender technical specification, the preliminary design and the preparation and costing of the technical portion of bids. Bill of quantity estimation & technical support for tendering.
- Designs as required by the specific project, including the specification of the required cables and the specification and sourcing of the various components
- Advising on and reviewing Construction methods and plans for the project
- Advising on and reviewing manpower and equipment plans for the project
- Conducting or managing specialist outsourced studies/designs as may be required (eg Finite Element Analysis, Transient analysis, consulting services)
- Project technical issue investigation, analysis and resolution
- Support and participate in commissioning activities
- Conduct Acceptance Testing with the customer. (Factory, Site and Performance testing)
- Provide input for Technical quality assurance (QCP’s, ITP’s) and participate in ensuring technical quality is achieved. Provide technical assurance on works executed by subcontractors.
- Preparation of SLDs, layout and sections for HV electrical systems, i.e substations, OHL, and HV cables.
- Participation in marketing activities and customer interfaces as may be required.
- Participate in Electrical Engineering and Construction industry body activities to promote our company presence in the industry
- Ensure compliance to all aspects of SHEQ.
- Ensure all work carried out complies with the correct standards in terms of accuracy and safety.
- Responsible for review and quality of all project technical documentation
- Manage and control Engineering changes on the project
