The Department is part of the Human Settlements Directorate within the City of Cape Town. The Department is mandated with the upgrading and improvement of Informal Settlements following various development methodologies. INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS ? ENGINEERING SERVICES
PRINCIPAL PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: ENGINEERING SERVICES
(PERMANENT/NON-PERMANENT POSITIONS)
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1 274 257 TO R1 518 322 PER ANNUM ? REF NO: HSM 24/24
Job Purpose:
- Manage, facilitate and obtain all land use approvals in terms of the relevant legislation for the upgrading of informal settlement and urgent and emergency housing programme projects.
Requirements:
- A relevant BEng/BSc in Engineering qualification
- Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer
- Proven relevant experience at an appropriate level.
SENIOR PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: ENGINEERING SERVICES
(PERMANENT/NON-PERMANENT POSITIONS)
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R961 945 TO R1 219 320 PER ANNUM ? REF NO: HSM 25/24
Job Purpose:
- Manage, supervise and coordinate the planning and implementation of the Directorate's Capital infrastructure program to ensure that projects / programmes are effectively scoped, budget estimated, projects scheduled
- Identify key performance areas to ensure that only projects with the highest probability of successful execution are included in the ensuing years Capital plan
- Monitor and report on the Directorate's implementation plans.
Requirements:
- A relevant BEng/BSc in Engineering qualification
- Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer
- Proven relevant experience at an appropriate level.
SENIOR PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: PLANNING
(PERMANENT/NON-PERMANENT POSITIONS)
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R961 945 TO R1 219 320 PER ANNUM ? REF NO: HSM 26/24
Job Purpose:
- Supervise, facilitate, compile and obtain all land use approvals in terms of the relevant legislation for the upgrading of informal settlements (brownfield and greenfield sites), and emergency housing projects
- Provide detailed layout designs, coordination and packaging of initiatives for upgrading of Informal Settlement (UISP) ensure that projects / programmes are effectively scoped, budget estimated, projects scheduled
- Identify key performance areas to ensure that only projects with the highest probability of successful execution are included in the ensuing years.
Requirements:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Town Planning
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Planner
- Proven relevant experience at an appropriate level.
Liaise and provide property related advice and feedback, attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders, councillors and various committees.
