About the position

Individual who has min of 2 yrs production management exp in the food manufacturing sector, rel qualifications - Food Tech/Production Management/Industrial Engineering, proven exp with equipment, process flow and line commissioning and capacity to convert requirements to achievable output, req for well established food producer. Responsibilities:
Provide timely updates to the Factory Manager covering current or forecast production issues that may impact resources, requiring either an increase or decrease of capacity.
Ensure that quality and food safety standards (QMS an FSP) as agreed with the Technical Manager are embedded throughout the department and monitored, managed and achieved using KPI's as effective progress trackers.
Through a structured plan contributes towards the site's attainment of annual budget targets and site KPI's. Manage departmental overheads to remain within budget.
Ensure that the departmental structure is balanced to business requirements and is resourced by the appropriate human capital. Develops and maintains fluid and responsive succession and development plans for optimised and sustainable performance.
Drives a safe working environment within the department by ensuring that the business meets world-class FMCG standards to achieve the goals of the group SHE policy.
Drive safety culture.
Drive daily line targets and optimize plant capacity.
Drive continuous process improvement.
Develops internal and external customer relationship which inspire confidence in the sites manufacturing capability.

Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years progressive food manufacturing experience - with a minimum of 2 years in a substantial management role. Minimum of a Degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field; Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, and Production Management to be supplemented by formalised operational training in terms of applied production techniques.
Proven knowledge and experience with equipment, process flow, and line commissioning - aligned with requirements to maintain quality, throughput, and effectiveness.
Proven capacity to convert requirements to an achievable output and effective communicator of progress to all business stakeholders.
Successful project delivery through effective reporting team leadership.
Deadline-driven within a fast-moving environment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills/ team player - an effective leader who can maximize human capital to best effect across various applications.
