Product Development Manager
FIXED-TERM CONTRACT (12 Months)

SENTECH is looking for Product Development Manager who will be responsible for managing existing and new product & services well as the execution throughout the product lifecycle i.e. from conception to product withdrawal, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements.
The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, while concurrently developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and drive market growth manage the full product development life cycle for commercial offerings as well as ensuring that the product is delivered at high-quality to meet customers' needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and articulate a cohesive product strategy aligned with product profitability and overall company objectives
- Set strategic product goals and KPIs to measure success and alignment with business objectives
- Drive the product development process, from concept to release, ensuring products meet market needs and quality standards
- Implement Agile methodologies and best practices to streamline development processes and increase efficiency.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, fostering creative problem-solving and risk-taking.
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business objectives and enhance brand positioning
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify market trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Segment target markets and define customer personas to tailor product offerings effectively.
- Provide input on pricing models and strategies that align with market positioning and customer value.
- Oversee the creation of marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities to drive awareness and demand
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to facilitate regulatory audits and documentation.
- Define roles and responsibilities, set performance expectations, and provide mentorship and coaching to team members.
- Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and project timelines to achieve product development milestones.
- Resolve conflicts and obstacles to keep product development projects on track.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, Marketing or equivalent.
- An Honours degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
- Relevant certifications, such as those related to product management, project management, or telecommunications, can be beneficial.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in product development/engineering or related field within the Telecoms industry of which 2 years should be customer facing/ consulting to external Marketing environment and supervisory experience
- Proven experience in leading product development initiatives, including defining product strategies, creating roadmaps, and managing cross-functional teams to deliver successful products and solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of the telecommunications industry, including broadband technologies, regulatory landscape, industry standards, including compliance management and audits and competitive dynamics.
- A track record of driving innovation within product development, including the integration of emerging technologies and industry trends into product offerings.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, marketing, sales, and other cross-functional teams to align product development efforts with business objectives.
- Experience in maintaining comprehensive documentation of product development processes, milestones, and outcomes, including financial reporting and performance metrics.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of products and solutions.
Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of broadband technologies, including satellite, wireless access networks, fibre, VOIP, SDWAN and digital services
- Familiarity with the architecture and infrastructure of broadband networks, including access networks, core networks, and internet/Wi-Fi services.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Awareness of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to the broadband and telecommunications sector.
- Proficiency in product management principles and best practices, including product strategy, road mapping, and product lifecycle management.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and operations.
- Understanding of financial principles related to budgeting, cost analysis, and ROI calculations for product development initiatives.
