About the position
We are looking for a dynamic young Chemical Engineer (ideally ECSA Registered) - with 3-5 years of working experience as a Process Engineer within the Water Treatment & Turnkey Solutions sector - to take on a key role of PROCESS ENGINEER - to assist with the coordination & execution of process design, procurement support, plant erection support, commissioning, performance testing and evaluation, and after sales services within agreed constraints of time, cost and quality and problem solving at all levels.
SHORT SUMMARY OF ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare engineering design packages for tenders/projects, incl PFD's, Design Calculations, Mass & Energy Balances, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Equipment Schedules, Process Datasheets etc.
- Process design development
- Provide cost-effective solutions whilst ensuring technical compliance with client requirements
- Participating in HAZOP/HAZAN studies
- Interpret & Implement Client Specifications & Requirements - and discuss any technical clarifications with client
- Prepare Technical Specs of equipment for RFQ's & PO's.
- Commissioning, incl documentation prep, pre-commissioning, cold & hot commissioning activities and troubleshooting
- Performance testing and reporting
- On site construction verification, punching and sign off
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCE:
- DEGREE in Chemical Engineering
- 3-5 years experience as a Process engineer for turnkey projects (Water Treatment)
- Ideally ECSA Registered
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication - Ideally fluent in Afrikaans, English & other languages
