About the position
Job Title: Plant Engineer
Location: North West, South Africa
Hire Resolve's Client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Engineer to join their mining operation in the North West region of South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of plant equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on plant machinery
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime
- Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure continuous operation of the plant
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards
- Provide technical expertise and support to plant operators and maintenance staff
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source necessary parts and equipment
- Participate in plant improvement projects and upgrades as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- GCC Mines and Works
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in plant maintenance or a similar role within the mining industry
- Proven experience working with a variety of plant equipment, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and motors
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be willing to work in a challenging and dynamic mining environment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
