About the position
Stable well established company, part of JSE listed group, requires talented cost accountant for their manufacturing operations.
Main responsibility will be to assist management with analysing cost expenditures and purchases within the company in order to maximise manufacturing profitability.
This position will suit candidate who strives in a HIGHLY PRESSURISED environment, and is prepared to work long hours, some weekends and possibly public holidays.

Minimum requirements:
- B Com Degree
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role at a manufacturing business
- SAP or similar ERP experience
- CIMA advantageous
- advertised salary is a CTC package
- Willing and able to work alternative Saturdays - non-negotiable
Main responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the company's operations.
- Costing: Utilise costing methods to accurately determine the cost of production of various products.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts by providing insights into cost trends and variances, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and control processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Variance Analysis: Analyse and interpret variances between actual and budgeted costs, investigating reasons for discrepancies and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency, reduce production costs and maximize profitability.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction initiatives, driving continuous improvement efforts across the company.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making by management.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis related to costs, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and regulatory standards.
- Assisting Financial Manager with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
