About the position

Responsible for timely and efficient processing of monthly salaries (1000) on Sage 300 People

  • Co-ordinate employee status changes between Operations and Payroll for new engagements, transfers, promotions, terminations, etc.
  • Creates salary sheets and reports
  • Update salary sheets and schedules
  • Calculating bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions
  • Review and maintain Pay Rules and Pay Schedule as per bargaining council
  • Ensure all employees leave forms for annual/sick/unpaid/ hours are accurately captured and maintained on file
  • Ensure Statuary deductions and 3rd party payment are correct
  • Issuing and distributing payslips
  • EMP 201 and 501 administration and submissions
  • IOD claim submissions
  • Processing of UIF Forms
  • COID registration and yearly payment
  • 3rd Party reconciliation, submission and query management (Funeral, Life, Garnishee, Loans, Pension, Medical Aid)
  • Employment Equity preparation and submission
  • Filing of all payroll and HR related documentation
  • Prepare and reconcile Month end and salary journals
  • Ensure proper filing of tax and deduction reports
  • Manage all quires relating to employees payments, deductions (Medical Aids / Pension fund and other contributions)

Qualification / Skills / Knowledge Required

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 15 years' experience working with large monthly payrolls
  • Minimum 5 years working experience on Sage 300 / VIP payroll system
  • Possess strong accounting and exceptional accuracy skills
  • Possess strong organisational and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, team player with the ability to show initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
