About the position

Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd requires the services of an Operator Drill Rig their Black Rock Mine Operations situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

Description
Conduct inspections and operate drill rig in accordance to drill plan. To render support with ad hoc tasks and adhere to safety procedures and mine standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Certificate: Grade 12 (Required).
• Valid Code B / EB Drivers Licence (Required).
• Dover A Symbol (Required).
• Production License – Drill Rig (Required).

Experience and Requirements: 

• 1 Year equipment operation experience - Scaler, UV, UBST, Bolters / Drill Rig (External).
• 2 Years Mining experience.

Knowledge and Skills: 

• Know and exercise the basic principles of safety and mining. Comply with safety, health and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings. Take care of your own safety and the safety of fellow employees.
• Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
• Contribute to team performance.
• Participate in change initiatives.
• Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
• Complete documentation accurately and in full.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and housekeeping. Identify sub performance. Report deviations. Operate the drill rig and produce accurate drilled holes for the charging, blasting and sampling activities. Render support with ad hoc tasks. Only operate in a workplace that has been declared safe by the miner in charge.
• Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.
• Complete pre-start check list accurately and record all equipment defects or potential defects.

• The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
