About the position
Job Title: Occupational Medical Practitioner
Location: Northern Cape, South Africa
Hire Resolve's client is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Medical Practitioner to join their mining operation in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical services and support to our employees under occupational health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-employment medical examinations for new employees.
- Provide medical treatment and care for employees who have suffered work-related injuries or illnesses.
- Conduct periodic medical examinations for all employees in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Develop and implement health promotion programs to improve the overall well-being of our workforce.
- Advise on workplace health and safety issues and recommend measures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all employees.
- Coordinate with external medical providers and specialists as needed.
- Participate in emergency response drills and help develop emergency medical procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in occupational health and safety.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery
- Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine and Health
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Occupational Medical Practitioner in a mining or industrial setting.
- In-depth knowledge of local occupational health and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
