Job Title: Medical Sample Collector
Location: Santa Fe- Albuquerque- Roswell- Los Luas and Santa Clara All candidates must be resident in the United States USA
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Call 40 hours per week.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Medical Sample Collector to join our team, primarily to support health initiatives and testing in various environments including temporary medical stations and in-home visits. The role involves traveling to assigned sites to collect biological samples, such as nasal swabs or blood draws, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance are maintained. This position requires excellent patient interaction skills and the ability to perform under potentially stressful conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to various testing sites including homes, businesses, and temporary medical stations to collect biological samples.
  • Perform sample collection using appropriate medical and protective equipment, adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.
  • Label, store, and transport samples in accordance with applicable guidelines to ensure specimen integrity.
  • Maintain accurate records of collected samples, patient interactions, and other required information.
  • Educate and instruct patients on the sample collection process, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals and labs to ensure efficient processing of samples.
  • Provide updates and feedback to health authorities and participating entities regarding the testing process and outcomes.
Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting, with direct experience in sample collection preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols and infection control measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively to multiple sites.
  • Physical ability to perform required tasks including standing for long periods, bending, and lifting supplies.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training or certification specific to the type of samples being collected (e.g., phlebotomy certification for blood draws).
  • Experience working in public health or similar field settings during health crises.
  • Bilingual abilities to better serve diverse communities.
Education/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in medical, nursing, or public health fields is beneficial.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Additional certification for specific sample collection as needed (e.g., Certified Phlebotomy Technician).
