About the position
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and legal requirements, overseeing maintenance activities and projects according to OHS Act standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement and lead projects focused on continuous improvement and cost savings, optimizing material, spare parts, and service utilization.
- Maintenance Strategy: Develop and execute maintenance strategies aligned with business objectives, leveraging available resources efficiently.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and mentorship on infrastructure, equipment, and standards, conducting root cause failure analysis and implementing corrective measures.
- Risk Management: Drive the risk assessment process and ensure team members are trained on work procedures and SOPs.
- Team Development: Develop and manage staff effectively through performance reviews and training identification.
- Plant Performance: Optimize plant performance and reliability by coordinating maintenance team activities and contractors through SAP PM System.
Desired Experience QualificationCritical Requirements:

- Qualifications: Grade 12 with N6 Refractory Masonry (Bricklaying) qualification.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with preventive maintenance techniques, relevant legislation (including OHS Act), furnace and refractory installation systems, and supply chain/spares management.
- Skills: Strong business acumen, effective people management and leadership skills, interpersonal and conflict management abilities, proficiency in MS Office and project management, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with 3-5 years in a management role within the manufacturing or technical industry.
