Maintenance Electrician

About the position

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• Carrying out of preventative & daily maintenance activities
• Ensure optimal equipment efficiencies and spares availability

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take ownership and responsibility for the electrical maintenance of plant machinery and equipment
• Provide a support function to fellow electricians and millwrights
• Daily condition monitoring of machines & equipment
• Respond to breakdowns timeously with minimum disruption to manufacturing
• Ensure preventative maintenance and servicing of reticulation are done
• The identification of critical spares and request to order are logged with maintenance coordinator
• Electrical installations of new equipment
• Ensure all electrical repairs are done according to standards
• Ensure optimal equipment efficiency is achieved daily.
• Ensure all machine and electronic safeties are in perfect working condition
• Identify health & safety hazards and notify maintenance manager immediately.
• Ensure lockout procedures are always adhered to
• Do daily reticulation checks, panels are closed, lighting is operational
• Prioritize breakdowns and class priorities accordingly
• Planning of maintenance and installation & repairs
• Ensure the best and newest technology is used to ensure optimal reticulation efficiencies
• Able to work shifts

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Strong communication skill, written and spoken.
• +/- 4 years of experience

QUALIFICATIONS

• Matric or Grade 12
• A qualification in the engineering field, minimum N2
• Qualified Electrician
• Valid Trade certificate
• Valid driver's license
