Junior Product Owner at App Inlet

About the position

App Inlet is growing and is looking to hire a Junior Product Owner to join the team.

The Role

Our Product Owners are the glue between our clients and our Design and Development teams. We use agile methodologies to manage our 2 week sprints. Our Product Owners define each task within the sprint to ensure the successful delivery of products that meet the needs of our customers and align with the company's strategic objectives.
In time you would also manage the bi-weekly Sprint Review meetings with our clients to report back and ensure we are headed in the right direction as we design and develop digital products.

As a Junior to Mid-Level Product owner, you would work closely with our Senior Product Owner and Team Leads to learn our systems and get to know our clients and ways of being. Initially you would be in a supporting role while we on-board you, with the goal of slowly handing over projects and giving you more and more responsibility as you grow and understand the dynamics of the various projects.

This is a hybrid role but will require more time in the office (Rondebosch) initially.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs
• Identify and Analyse product requirements
• Product development support
• Engaging with the Product Testing and Quality Assurance teams
• Stakeholder Communication including frequent meeting management
• Market Research and Competitive Analysis

Required skills

• Minimum of 1 year of Product Owner or Project Management experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
• Understanding of user needs and the importance of Human Centered design
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
• Strong Organisational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and principles
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana (Ideally Jira)
• Basic understanding of software development processes and lifecycle.
