An exciting career opportunity exists for a Trade Development Consultant in a large FMCG company based in Port Elizabeth.  

The position is open to South African Citizens only.  Please only apply should you meet the following criteria:  

Tertiary degree and a minimum of 2-3 yrs Sales experience; financial acumen, good analytical skills. A passion for food and customers; Deep category and industry knowledge; Proven selling and negotiation skills; High level of self-motivation, very organised; Accountable for your decisions; possess account management capability and be able to communicate at all levels.  Results Driven, Customer Service Orientated, Proven ability to motivate, conduct training & deliver outstanding results through 3rd party.

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

 • Actively seek to learn & understand more about the company and it’s partners business strategies, the market conditions and information & competitor activity.

• Create & Implement the Customer Account Plan to :
­ ­ Ensure the Plan makes the most of the sales mix, promotional opportunities and marketing activities.
­ Manage & control budget in line with Customer Plan %’s.
­
• Conduct Sales Analysis & Customer Reviews to:
­ Assess, adjust and act on any gaps & issues emerging.

­ Monitor sales in and out. Analyse available data and work with chosen Distributors Reps & telesales & CDCs to find the correct balance of stock-on-hand vs. sales being generated and address any gaps vs targets as they emerge.
­ Monitor activities to ensure it is tracking according to Customer plan. Track success of implemented solutions to ensure they deliver as expected. Continual tracking and reworking plan is required.
­ React and build action plans on poor performing products & innovation.
­ Stock forecasting and rotation.
­ Conduct Training of customers sales force to actively drive sales for customer & company.


• Implement Marketing and Sales activities:
­ Identify whether marketing solution should be customer, product or strategy based.
­ Work closely with marketing team to proactively identify & design most appropriate marketing activities to address target shortfall.
­ Negotiating bulk displays / Gondola ends to plug specific gaps identified, increase visibility and blitz stock out of the store.
­ Full accountability for the successful implementation of solutions at site.

• Management of PRICING
­ Ensure correct Pricing, Deals & Price Increases are implemented/listed at a buyer level when the order is signed off.
­ Ensuring deals are correctly captured in the SAP system. 
­ Ensure new product listings executed efficiently
­ Customer pricing claims

• Management of STOCK
­ Ensure stock availability at all time.
­ More Proactive in moving stock. Listings and sales to be tracked and followed up to ensure take-off of sales are in line with our targets.
­ Control damages or complaints.  

• Building the right Relationships with route to market customers and key stakeholders (buying / sales/ finance). Show Customer how to make more money & provide route to market partner support.
• Build relationship with the call centre and debtors team
