Introduction
Our Client has a position available for a Statutory Control Administrator for the Southern Region Office, based in Port Elizabeth. The incumbent will be responsible for managing, at regional level, all statutory and related aspects; the protection of all national road infrastructure by ensuring compliance of all applications for work inside and/or development affecting national routes, with statutory control requirements and the companys Policies and Act.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience
  • Senior certificate;
  • A Diploma in Town & Regional Planning;
  • A tertiary qualification in a related field will be an added advantage; 3 to 5 years related experience
THE ROLE
Key Performance Areas
Statutory Control Administration:
  • Manage statutory control applications in terms of the South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited and National Roads Act, Act 7 of 1998;
  • Coordination of approval of way leaves;
  • Management of division of land;
  • Access control management;
  • Coordination for structures over/above the national road;
  • Coordinate and manage applications for advertising on National roads and removal of illegal advertisements;
  • Manage and coordinate trading alongside National roads;
  • Management of applications and approvals of brown facility signs;
Land Matters:
  • Research on Land Ownership
  • Ensure timely attendance to public queries;
  • Attend Regional land matters meetings between Service Providers and the Region.
Liaison:
  • Liaison with external service providers and stakeholders with regard to statutory control issues;
  • Liaison with Regions and Head Office with regard to statutory control issues and attend cluster meetings (Statutory control and Third Party Claims);
  • Negotiate effectively with applicants with regard to alternative solutions to ensure that it is in line with statutory requirements and companys policy.
