SALES CONTACT CENTRE TEAM LEADER
Coordinate sales distribution by monitoring established sales territories, quotas and goals and recommend training programs for sales representatives in the contact -center. Implement policies and manage daily operations and resources. Directly supervise and coordinate activities of sales staff within the functional area of responsibility. Achieve team sales targets and coach and performance manage sales staff on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities
Implement the department strategy
- Directing and coordinating people, including motivation and communication
- Organising staffing, including shift patterns and the number of staff required to meet daily demand
- Confer or consult with internal stakeholders to implement promotional activities or campaigns and to secure information on products and customer specifications to implement new business strategies decided by upper management levels.
- Monitoring of performance of both the team and individuals i.e. performance management and targets.
- Use call-centre technology to monitor staff performance and productivity.
- Ensure that company policies for the management of people and processes and procedures are complied with, within the sales functional area.
- Compile daily, weekly, monthly etc. Sales Reports by recording statistics, individual productivity rates and the performance levels of the team members and preparing reports at intervals as requested by sales management.
- Review sales reports to project sales targets for the team and individual sales staff and to support the gradual improvement of individual sales targets.
- Advise internal and external stakeholders on policies and operating procedures in the value chain to ensure optimum effectiveness of the team.
- Manage the daily running of the team including resources and technology distribution.
Qualifications
- Matric essential
- Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous
- Min 30 credits in Short Term Personal Lines to satisfy FAIS Fit and Proper Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in a short term insurance sales role plus
- Minimum 2 years in a senior call-centre role
Technical Skills
Computer literate; competent in MS Office Suite with intermediate level skill in MS Excel
- Knowledge of principles and methods for selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques and sales control systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
