Forwarding and Release Functions

 1.       Register and open file on Track and Trace (Pangaea) as well as Corefreight (Industry Software)
 2.       Liaise with shipping lines / airlines to obtain latest ETA and Arrival Notifications.
 3.       Notify agents with ETA
 4.       Prepare payments to service providers locally.
 5.       Process cheque requisitions for foreign and local payments.
 6.       Invoice agent and ensure payment received.
 7.       Release documents in accordance to usual Forwarding SOP
 8.       Quality check file, and close off

 Indent Functions

 1.       Register Indent
 2.       Contact overseas agent, and arrange collection of cargo.
 3.       Keep consignee / imports updated with status of shipment
 4.       Endorse files with buy / sell rates
 5.       Invoice local agent or TGC Import department for costs
 6.       Perform role as above (Forwarding and Release Functions)

 Acquittal Functions

 1.       Reconcile outstanding acquittals with SARS.
 2.       Attend to SARS queries regarding acquittals.
 3.       Ensure timeous liquidation of acquittals.
 4.       Prepare monthly report on outstanding by number and value

 Candidate Knowledge

 1.       Must have at least 2 years working experience in Forwarding department
 2.       Must have thorough knowledge of imports flow.
 3.       SDS Certification an advantage.
 4.       INCO Terms knowledge essential.
 5.       Knowledge of Bills of Lading – different types
 6.       Computer Literate in MS Office & Web capture
 7.       Good writing skills

 Character Type

 1.       Must be thorough and given attention to detail.
 2.       Good in calculations
 3.       Accurate in data capture
 4.       Good interpersonal skills.
 5.       Ability to communicate clearly and audibly with customers.
 6.       Self manage
