About the position

A well-established plastic raw material company requires the above to manage all customer orders working closely with the external sales team and senior management team to ensure that customers receive their products on time within the plastic converting industry.
Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Matric is essential.
  • Previous internal sales experience having worked within a manufacturing and or distribution environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience having worked within the plastic/polymer raw material or related markets is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous internal sales administration experience is essential.
  • Experience working on Intacct / Sage products is preferred but not essential as the company will provide training on the programme.
  • Strong organisational and administration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing all customer orders working closely with the external sales team and senior management.
  • Liaising with customers regarding the processing of orders.
  • Liaising with various departments to ensure that customer's deliveries of raw materials are met.
  • Ensuring that customers are constantly updated on back orders with regard to stock.
  • Ensuring that all orders received are correctly captured.
  • Liaising with the sales team as well as senior management on a daily basis and updating them on any developments.
  • Working closely with the external sales team to ensure that they are kept informed of any developments relevant to their accounts.
  • Ensuring that all customer complaints, issues and queries are resolved timeously.
  • Ensuring that credit notes are completed and processed on time.
  • Manage stock and ensure that the warehouse has enough stock on hand for customer requirements.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with assigned clients, understanding their business objectives and challenges.
  • Providing regular forecasts and insights to the sales team leader or director.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
