Intermediate Project Manager
Responsibilities/Tasks of a Intermediate Project Manager:
·Collaborate with Business Analysts, Systems Engineers, and project stakeholders to establish and agree upon project scope, with a strong emphasis on systems integration.
·Ensure clear definition of roles, responsibilities, and deliverables for each project discipline/member, emphasizing systems integration tasks.
·Facilitate high-level software design sessions, integrating systems considerations into the design process.
·Host project effort estimation sessions with a focus on understanding the intricacies of systems integration.
·Define a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and create a comprehensive project plan in MS Project or a suitable tool, highlighting systems integration milestones.
·Set up JIRA projects and create Jira tickets that address systems integration tasks as part of the defined project plan.
·Define a workflow tailored to the project environment, ensuring that it is agreed upon by project members and aligns with systems integration requirements.
·Manage project communication, including project plans, meeting minutes, and reporting, giving special attention to systems integration-related communication.
·Perform impact analysis for project changes, especially those affecting systems integration, and oversee the change management process.
·Facilitate regular project updates with project stakeholders, emphasizing systems integration progress and challenges.
·Collaborate with System Engineers, Architects, and Team Leads to understand non-functional and quality requirements, particularly as they relate to systems integration.
·Lead and motivate the project team, ensuring that they understand the critical role of systems integration.
·Oversee systems integration tasks, including the integration of third-party components and interfaces.
·Build ongoing relationships with line management and other company departments required for project delivery, emphasizing systems integration alignment.
·Understand the Interfront software release process and manage multiple releases to the client, with a specific focus on integration points.
Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Information Sciences.
  • 4-7 years of technical project management experience, with a significant portion involving systems integration.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience in a software development environment, with a strong focus on systems integration.
  • Project management certification.
  • Proficient understanding of Agile Principles.
  • Proficient understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Proficient user of MS Project or similar software and MS Office applications.
  • A solid grasp of Software Design Principles.

 
 Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Project Administration, with a focus on systems integration project management.
  • Systems integration experience, ideally in a software development environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a history of motivating project teams
  • Ability to conduct scenario-based analysis
  • Proficiency in critical thinking and the ability to ask probing questions to effectively find solutions.
  • An understanding of systems integration principles, including middleware, APIs, and data integration, with some history of successful integration projects.
  • Experience in integrating third-party components and interfaces into software projects.
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and continuously improving systems integration best practices within project management processes, with a history of optimizing integration efficiencies.
