About the position

  • Dispute Resolution: Assisting with the resolution of disputes between management and labour unions or employees and providing guidance on dispute resolution procedures.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that the organization complies with labour laws, policies, and procedures, and maintain accurate records of all disciplinary hearings, grievances, warnings and other industrial related matters.
  • Disciplinary hearings: Ensure that all disciplinary hearings are conducted timeously in a procedurally and substantively fair manner. Ensure consistency in all IR matters.
  • Developing Policies and Procedures: Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations where deemed necessary.
  • Main Agreement (MEIBC): Ensure compliance with the MA of the MEIBC and take responsibility for all short time arrangements and notifications.
  • Absenteeism management - Assist in ensuring the absenteeism policy is adhered to with consistent discipline, employee engagement and reporting.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Providing support in recruitment and selection process by developing job descriptions, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and providing guidance on selection criteria.
  • HR Policy Development: Developing HR policies and procedures in line with relevant legislation and best practice to ensure compliance with the law, protect the interests of the organization, and foster a positive work culture.
  • Performance Management: Developing and implementing performance management systems, including setting goals and objectives, conducting performance appraisals, and providing feedback and coaching to employees.
  • General support to Employees and Management in all Human Resources related issues.
  • Absenteeism management - Assist in ensuring the absenteeism policy is adhered to with consistent discipline, employee engagement and reporting.
  • KPAs - Development of new KPAs in conjunction with relevant HOD. Ensure each employee has a KPA and that it is current.
