About the position

REPORTING TO THE GROUP CEO, THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE IS

  • To facilitate the development and execution of a strategy forthe organisation, that will secure local and global partnerships through diversification in local and foreign markets; generation of demand for the organisation existing and new products and services in line with strategy.
  • To assure optimal performance of the organisation's stakeholder relationship management capability and maintain beneficialrelationships with clients, suppliers and other business partners.
  • To oversee and report on all programmes within the organisation to monitor performance against on-time delivery within specifications and budget and oversee optimising the delivery and quality of products and services through strategic planning and reporting, strict governance protocols and risk mitigation, thereby enabling the achievement of the organisation's objectives
  • To oversee the business development initiatives and major campaigns as well as the execution of mergers, acquisitionsand disposals to achieve the organisation's goals.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Post Graduate Degree in Business and Engineering Degree (NQF 8)

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 years' experience in the Defence Industry.
  • 10 years' sales experience in defence procurement environment and international business.
  • 3 years' experience in leading a Commercial Team in a Senior Management capacity.
  • Proven experience of successfully securing major contracts and move it from the initial bid to the final completion.
  • At least 5 years' experience dealing with Agents/ Technical Advisors agreements.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the RSA military and foreign industries.
  • Expert knowledge of services and products.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of complex, multi-facetted products, systems and campaigns.
  • Expert knowledge of defence, aerospace and national security technologies and requirements.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of National Security environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Project Management.
