General Manager (Sporting Industry)

About the position

Our client a well-established, national Wholesaler and Distributor of premium cycling brands to the South African Cycling Market is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to join their management team and oversee/manage the entire SA operation.

Head office is based in Gqeberha.

National travelling is required.



Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous
• Valid Driver's License with own transport
• MS Office Literate
• Min 3yrs management experience in a managerial role in a similar industry
• Cycling / Mountain Biking enthusiast would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient day to day running of the business
• Training and daily supervision and management of staff nationally
• Daily feedback on objectives achieved and operations
• Provide clear objectives to both office and sales team
• Create and manage monthly sales targets
• Assist with Sales and Customer Support
• Assist Sales Team with necessary product information and feedback on queries
• Oversee and plan event participation at Expo's, Races, Dealer training and product activations
• Identify market trends and provide input/suggestions on operational changes
• Collect and report competitor information
• Compile and implement sales and promotional plan
• Manage customer complaints
• Compile monthly sales reports
