General Engineering Supervisor

About the position

Our client is an estabished mine with a fleet of vehicles, looking to appoint a General Engineering Supervisor to be based in Middelburg. The successful candidate will either have a Mechanical or Electrical qualification.

The inidividual will oversee the maintenance of operations of equipment and systems according to sund engineering practices and equipment specifications while assisting the Engineer with the design and supervision of engineering activities.

As the General Engineering Supervisor, you need to apply deep technical or specialist expertise to analyse data, anticpae and diagnose problems while providing a solution aimed at improving the processess, systems and work methods.

Responsiblities:

• Ensuring adherence to the MHS Act, OHS Act, and GMR 2 regulations

• Ensuring work is planned, scheduled, executed and monitored in accordance with the Engineering objectives

• Analysing data for plant and area of responsibility, reporting and investigating barriers to effective quality performance, causes of delays and deviations and ensuring mitigating plans are prepared and implemented
• Identifying and initiating system improvements
• Ensuring budgets are met and cost is controlled
• Stakeholder management, while supporting and implementing project optimisation
• Ensuring legal, safety, environmental and hygiene standards are complied with and maintained

Additional information:

• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience as a Senior Foreman or GES
• Technical Knowledge in maintenance of equipment
• Contract management experience and working knowledge of repair and services contracts
