Furnace Supervisor

About the position

Furnace Supervisor required for a reputable company based in Gqeberha 

Requirements: 

• Minimum qualification of matric, a supervisory qualification would be preferred
• Sufficient experience in the furnace department with potential leadership skills 
• Computer literacy 
• Must be able to communicate in English fluently 
• 2 years previous supervisory experience 

Responsibilities: 

• Ensure compliance with all health and safety and PPE regulations 
• Report any misconduct or poor performance to your supervisor 
• Daily absenteeism reporting to your manager 
• Constant availability o Watsapp to communicate on furnace group chat (when on shift and to report any absenteeism)
• Gather all completed inspection checklists from your team members and ensure they are all checked and signed off 
• Ensure investigation reports are submitted to management / health and safety / HR 
•  Supervision of team to ensure they are fulfilling their KPA responsibilities 
• Issuing of warnings to team members when necessary (training will be given) 
• Issuing and collection of PPE for team members 
• Ensure smooth production activities with minimum down time 
• Ensure that all operator non - conformances or deviations from the required production processes are rectified or escalated to management  
• Inspection of all tools, equipment and machinery to ensure they are in good working order 
• Production reporting and sound communication of tasks to subordinates 
• Ensure a shift handover is done and sound handover practices are maintained within the team
