Financial Manager

About the position

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising the overall performance of the financial department by providing leadership and ensuring compliance to company best practice and legislative requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Playing a key role in the development of the company's growth strategy to ensure profitability - including gross profit margins, exchange rates, etc.
• Managing the country finance team to maximize the department's outputs
• Structuring and clarifying roles, responsibilities and standards of performance for team members
• Ensuring accurate accounting and reporting in line with Angolan GAAP requirements
• Ensuring accurate and timely submission of all taxes and full compliance with tax regulations
• Managing an effective in-country treasury function aligned with central standards and procedures
• Making recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets and financial control functions
• Ensuring alignment with the company's centralized processes, procedures and systems
• Preparing annual budgets for approval
• Managing the import function
• Monitoring and managing cost and preparing monthly variance analysis for presentation to management
• Keeping up to date with changes and ensuring compliance to Angola's financial regulations and legislation, especially regarding foreign exchange policies; repatriation of funds and relevant tax systems and tax or investment benefits or opportunities

Requirements:

• Must be an Angolan citizen
• Grade 12
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Certified Accountant by the Board of Accountants (OCPCA)
• 4 years' experience in financial management (including 2 years in a senior managerial role)
• Highly skilled in Angolan Tax Legislation (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding tax, etc.)
• Computer literacy: Intermediate level - Excel advanced
• Willingness to travel within and outside Angola
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
