About the position

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements by South African Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Coordinate the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for decision-making purposes.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Develop and manage the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports to identify areas of concern or improvement.
  • Prepare long-term financial forecasts to support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Financial Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate income tax.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement and maintain effective internal controls.
  • Cash Flow Management:
  • Monitor cash flow projections and manage cash balances to optimize liquidity.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to minimize outstanding balances and optimize working capital.
  • Financial Strategy:
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support business growth and expansion initiatives.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and conduct financial analysis to assess their viability and potential return on investment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

Requirements:

  • CA (SA) qualification - not negotiable
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Financial Manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of South African GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Only SA Citizens will be considered
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
