About the position

Client based in Mpumalanga seeks the services of Field Operator.
Field Operator
 
Role Summary/Purpose:

• Process Monitoring and Control:
  • Monitor and control production processes and equipment to ensure they operate properly.
  • Handle process parameters as desired and hand over to the incoming shift systematically.
  • Follow approved departmental standing instructions, standard operating procedures, and work permit systems.
  
  


• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as required.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of machinery.
  
  


• Communication and Reporting:
  
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding equipment performance, production progress, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities.
  
  


• Safety Compliance:
  
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and local regulations applicable to FGD operations.
  
  


• Shift Handover:
  
  • Communicate important information to incoming shift operators during shift changes to maintain continuity of operations.
  
  

 
Qualification/Requirements:
 
·       NQF Qualification in Plant operation
Or
·        N6/National Diploma/B-Tech/Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Degree in Engineering with minimum 2 years’ experience as Field/Plant Operator 
 
Desired Characteristics: 
 
·        Experience: Proven experience as a Field/Plant Operations or in a relevant position in process Plant.
·        Equipment Handling: Familiarity with operating pumps, compressors, tanks and conveyor belts
·        Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety measures, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety,) systems, and best practices within a process plant.
·        Physical Condition: Excellent physical condition and endurance.
·        Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and word systems.
