About the position
We have a client based in Maitland seeeking to employ an individual for the above position on contract basis.
Requirements:
Must have grade 12
Must have maths and Science
Must have drivers licence
Basic operational background(mechanical background(Pipe fitting, fitter & Turner,production operation)
Duties
- To man Tanker Basins for duration of vessel's loading and / or discharging various hydrocarbon products to ensure the safe handling of the cargo and to avoid any contaminations.
To ensure effective radio communication between vessel and various oil terminals operational departments.
To ensure the safe handling of products as per the safe work practice laid down by the company, Caltex Oil and Port Authorities.
Record all data on logsheets and plant logbook and give effective hand over at end of shift.
To collate and control all documents received and distributed from Caltex Refinery all vessels, including faxing of documents to Portnet and Calref operations planner.
To align all systems as per instructions to avoid spills and contamination.
To ensure all product samples taken as per standard and per request by senior personnel.
To liaise with Caltex Refinery operation department, ship's crew, shipping agents, marine inspectors, port authorities and management.
Load slop and Octel lead road tankers.
Do Octel month end and calculate lead quantities.
Know the properties of the various products when manning the Tanker basins during line flushed to avoid product contamination and excess slopping of product.
To supervise junior operator to ensure effective operation.
To ensure the effective P.P.E. attire.
