Data Process Engineer

About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

A dynamic Digital Transformation Specialist seeks a highly skilled analytical-thinking Data Process Engineer to join its team and build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata. Your role will also include Data Visualization using Power BI, utilising SQL queries to optimise existing reports while securing reports by row-level security. The ideal candidate requires a Computer Science or related tertiary qualification and at least 2 years work experience with Power BI, Microsoft Azure SQL Server, Logic Apps and be able to run DAX queries on Power BI desktop & convert data into relevant reports and graphics and troubleshooting existing issues.

DUTIES:

• Process automation with Azure server (Timer Jobs, Trigger).
• Data Administration – clean/validation/accuracy.
• Data Processes using Automation tools.
• Data Visualization using Power BI.
• Data Security – access to infrastructure.
• Data Integration – sync data between various systems.
• Manage data cost implications.
• Recognize business requirements in the context of BI and create data models to transform raw data into relevant insights.
• Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job completion.
• Create, test, and deploy Power BI reports.
• Use SQL queries to optimise existing reports.
• Make technological adjustments to current BI systems to improve their performance.
• Secure reports by row-level security.
• Assist the team where required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications –

• Tertiary Degree in Computer Science or relevant qualification.

Experience/Skills –

At least 2 years work experience:

• Background using Power BI.
• Microsoft Azure knowledge and associated services.
• Microsoft Azure SQL Server.
• Logic Apps.
• Storage services.
• Automation services.
• Prior experience in data-related tasks.
• Understanding of the Azure Stack.
• Analytical thinking for converting data into relevant reports and graphics and troubleshooting existing issues.
• Capable of enabling row-level data security.
• Knowledge of Power BI application security layer models.
• Ability to run DAX queries on Power BI desktop.
• Proficient in doing advanced-level computations on the data set.
• Ability to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata.
