About the Role:

Our client, a leading player in the hospitality industry in Johannesburg, is looking for a young, bubbly individual with finance exposure to join their team as a Credit Controller. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those with a BCom degree or National Diploma in finance-related fields, coupled with 2-3 years of experience in junior finance roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of consumer credit, be passionate about credit management, and possess the agility to adapt to industry trends. Hospitality or banking experience is advantageous, and this role provides room for training and growth, making it perfect for agile thinkers with a keen interest in the credit industry's future.



Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Preferable) or National Diploma with finance exposure.
  
  
• 2-3 years of experience in Hospitality or Banking sectors
  
  
• Understanding of consumer credit, including recons and processing journals.
  
  
• Passionate about credit and eager to learn and grow in the industry.
  
  
• Agile thinker with foresight, interested in credit industry trends.
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage credit control activities to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts from valued customers in the hospitality sector.
  
  
• Assess credit applications and make informed decisions to optimize credit limits, tailored to the unique aspects of hospitality operations.
  
  
• Maintain accurate records of customer accounts and transactions, enhancing the efficiency of credit processes.
  
  
• Communicate effectively with customers to resolve payment issues promptly and negotiate flexible repayment plans when necessary.
  
  
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to minimize financial risks and provide valuable insights on credit performance.
