About the position

Our client in the banking sector is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Corporate Actions II. This is a 6-month contract to be based in Johannesburg.


Work type: Hybrid


Role Overview:


Receive, administer, plan, communicate, process and monitor corporate events with supervision to ensure events are effectively processed and clients are informed and enabled to make appropriate elections and receive entitlements for corporate events within prescribed deadlines and regulatory framework.


  • 1-2 years proficient with BANCS or similar Corp Actions processing system (Required)

  • 3-4 years experience in a Corporate Actions environment with proficient financial market knowledge, including experience managing a small team or projects (Required)

  • Client Servicing 

  • Deal or Trade Life Cycles 

  • Exception Handling

  • International Market Knowledge 


  • Calculate and apply withholding tax for non-exempt clients, validate calculations, and submit reports for verification.

  • Coordinate team activities, providing guidance to optimize performance.

  • Monitor and resolve operational incidents, collaborating with stakeholders to mitigate risk.

  • Partner with management to identify and manage areas of risk and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Plan, create, and validate assigned corporate events, facilitating effective processing and communication.

  • Engage with stakeholders to obtain additional information for accurate client communication.

  • Prepare payment instructions, reconcile proceeds, and validate reconciliations.

  • Assist with research and provide inputs to inform event processing strategies.

  • Manage corporate event plans, ensuring accurate and timely submission of client instructions.

  • Provide inputs to cross-functional groups for effective new product development.

  • Monitor announcements and track notifications to identify corporate events, assisting with verification when required.

  • Reconcile instructions, eligibility, and entitlements to ensure accuracy.

  • Contribute to reporting and management information to track performance and optimize processes.

  • Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate query resolution and meet client expectations.
