About the position
The main purpose of this position is to develop, manage and implement the communications and engagement strategy and associated plans of the payments modernisation programme, including the real-time gross settlement (RTGS) programme, and other projects of the Bank to protect and enhance the image and reputation of the company
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop external and internal communications and stakeholder strategy/ies, in order to build and maintain the capabilities required for effective communication across all channels.
- Develop a comprehensive plan for all project related internal and external activities (collateral, training, materials) and ensure effective stakeholder co-ordination.
- Execute communications and stakeholder plans for the payments modernisation project throughout the life cycle of the project (planning, launch and maintenance phases) in line with approved frameworks, standards, processes and policies.
- Write, produce and edit high quality and professional content for speeches, presentations, as well as all communications channels.
- Partner with and engage departments of the company to ensure coordination and alignment of communication messages and stakeholder engagement.
- Plan and implement the communications operational plan for the programme by consolidating external and internal campaigns, events (showcases), communications requirements arising from planned and non-recurring events.
- Manage service providers, stakeholders, agencies that have been brought on board to support and execute strategic communications initiatives.
- Assess, review and report on the effectiveness of communications strategies on the payments ecosystem modernisation and RTGS programmes.
- Monitor and analyse the Banks’ external and internal environment specific to the project, in order Identify, manage and / or mitigate risks to the company’s reputation.
- Remain current with RTGS and payments ecosystem developments to explore opportunities for amplifying messages within the Bank in a timely manner
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- the minimum of a Diploma (NQF6) in Communication/Journalism/Economics. Knowledge of economics will be an added advantage;
- the 3-5 years of experience in a media, communications environment, projects and/or programme environment, of which at least 2 years must have been in an external and internal communications capacity; and knowledge and understanding of economics will be an advantage.
