Position open to all races. Some occasional travel to various branches in North West and Gauteng.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Key Performance Areas
- Overseeing integration of new financial systems into data to streamline production
- Manage the Financial Department to ensure internal financial controls
- Implement the Group Strategy in streamlining information to assist production with historical data
- Measuring and managing financial risks
- Develop, manage and motivate a team of finance professionals
- Review/draft/manage Commercial Agreements (for example-leases/supply agreements/creditors interaction/basic acquisitions)
- Cash Management Strategy
- Review and vet new business ventures and assess and motivate investment in new opportunities
- Review and present monthly management/consolidated accounts, budgets, and forecasts to the board
- Manage statutory and income tax act compliance and tax planning
- Review tax compliance and plan tax affairs
- Strong business and administrative acumen with a specific emphasis on assisting the MD/Operations Director with business development and new business project management
- Accuracy and efficiency of performing the above functions in time
Ensure finance team :
- Submits/Review of annual income tax returns
- Completes IFRS-compliant annual financial statements
- Manage annual external and internal audits for the Group
- Management of Staff/Employees
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the overall business objectives
- Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, forecasts and reports to support decision-making
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions
- Commercial oversight and sign-off on major deals
Budgeting and Cost Management
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure alignment with strategic goals
- Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficient resource allocation and expense management
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and compliance standards
Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, laws and accounting standards
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure adherence to controls
- Maintain a strong control environment with good governance and adherence to Group policies
- Ensure Service level agreements are adhered to for outsourced processes to service providers
Balance Sheet and Working Capital Management
- Optimize net working capital management, net debt and cash management
- Review of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Review and sign off on major capex spend
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide strong leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
- Set clear objectives, provide guidance and ensure the professional development of team members
- Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments and senior management
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with senior executives, department heads, and business partners
- Provide financial insights, analysis and recommendations to support decision-making
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including service providers for outsourced processes
- Potential candidates from Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp and Gauteng will be considered.
Qualification & Experience
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Min 10 years post-article experience
- Previous mining, manufacturing, or contracting experience will be an advantage.
