About the position
Leading company in the Logistics and Supply Chain industry is looking for a Category Manager for their Spares and Vehicle Maintenance area. This is an exciting role and requires strong category management experience with parts and components in a spend of approximately R300m or more. South Africans may apply while preference will be given to equity candidates.
Tertiary qualification is preferred
Additional CIPS or CSCP
Key responsibilities will include
- Strategic sourcing
- Replenishment management
- Stock management
- Obsolete management and disposals
- Supplier management
- Effectively utilise forecasting methodologies by movement category, depot, country and division
- Business interactions to drive understanding of requirements and align demand planning and forecasts
- Cost management and savings
- Supplier data - be custodian of master data within category
- Staff and performance management
- Training and development
Sound understanding of purchasing across multiple brands and categories is essential together with knowledge of import processes and INCOTERMS. Thorough knowledge of warehousing and inventory principles and methodologies is also required.
