Carrier Haulage Clerk - Reefer at Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC)

About the position

Purpose:
Liaison with relevant departments within the company & with service providers to ensure delivery of full & empty containers.

Responsibilities:

• Action Export Carrier Haulage and Export/Import merchant instructions
• Control vessel files, rail intents and tracking
• Print Container Terminal Orders (CT (CTOs) as per delivery instructions received from consignees and submit it to the cartage department for delivery.
• Monitor daily placings by checking available resources to inform clients of possible delays to services.
• Performing inventory checks of CTs & CDs to ensure that all planned deliveries have been actioned & that empties have turned into the nominated CDs.
• Check correspondence to ensure that costs are recovered from parties concerned, including costs associated with special services rendered.
• Adhere to prescribed procedures when arranging delivery of abnormal cargo (i.e., Hazardous)
• Understand & implement MSC SA Landside Tariff and 3rd party Tariffs (i.e., TPT, TNPA, etc.)
• Pre- capturing CTO's
• Liaise with customers and ensure frequent updates are communicated.
• Prepare charge advice for vessel files.
• Complete vessels check lists, filing, prepare weekly & monthly statistics.
• Reconciliation of all account related documentation, queries, invoices and POD's.
• Provide on-carriage/pre-carriage quotations to clients, overseas agents and other departments/regions.
• Preparation of system adjustments and zone code applications
• Completing tasks within nominated deadlines paying attention to detail
• Check supplier invoices for payments and ensure that costs are recovered from parties concerned.
• Act on any lawful and reasonable tasks/instruction given by Management.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

3-5 years' experience in a Logistics or Shipping environment
3 years experience in a similar role
