Carpenter/Furniture Restorer (Pinetown)

About the position

Duties & Responsibilities

• Restore furniture
• Gather material to be used
• Paint mixing and colour matching
• Measures and marks materials for cutting
• Cuts and drills wood and other materials using hand and power tools
• Joins materials with nails, screws or glue
• Checks accuracy of work with levels, rulers and measuring tapes

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum qualification Grade 12 with the necessary working experience
• Valid South African driver's licence, minimum code 8
• Knowledge of the methods of carpentry work
• Skills in using tools to cut and join wooden materials
• Ability to follow written instructions
• Ability to follow oral instructions with little need for repetition
• Deadline driven with ability to carefully assess and streamline processes
• Must be able to handle pressure and be willing to work extended hours if required
