About the position

Our production facilities and product line are expanding and so is our commercial function!
We have mutiple roles for BDV Managers to join our existing BDV team, working from our CAPE TOWN (Maitland) or JOHANNESBURG (Bartlett) offices.

Balancell designs and builds large lithium-ion batteries for industrial, commercial, residential and motive applications. Our batteries run on our proprietary Battery Management System, are always connected, and are used by blue chips and big brands throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries.

Reporting to the CCO, BDV Managers are responsible for identifying new commercial and industrial business opportunities and securing revenue, profitability and market awareness.
This you will achieve by developing sales leads, preparing best energy efficiency proposals and positioning Balancell's products and services in the forefront of the market for new and existing clients.

Key Result Areas and Responsibilities

  • Develop growth and market strategy
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers to unlock new project opportunities.
  • Responding to tenders
  • Conduct market research and identify key commercial and industrial customers to maintain a healthy pipeline and ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of business products and the Balancell value proposition
  • Assess customer requirements with the support of subject matter expert Engineers and prepare proposals including financials
  • Lead negotiations, negotiate terms and pricing through to successful deal signing
  • Nurture and retain relationships with key customer accounts - identify and map business strengths and customer needs.
  • Participate in industry forums and conferences, keep track of industry trends

The successful Candidate will have the following:
Qualities/Skills:

  • High Computer literacy,
  • Ability to model financials of Sales Proposals and long term multinational deals
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Negotiation Skills
  • High Attention to Detail
  • Achievement Orientated

Experience Required

  • ~7 years' experience in a mid to senior level in Sales / Business Development preferably at least 5 of which has been held within the technical environment / manufacturing space
  • Minimum work experience is 5 years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales & Marketing / Economics / Energy or comparable field.
