Assistant Director: Media Liaison

About the position

PURPOSE

To support the effective implementation of the Organisation's communication strategies and to enhance the image of the department through media liaison.

KEY AREAS

• Customise media liaison services to journalists to suit each medium
• Media Monitoring of coverage pertaining to the department and the National System of Innovation
• External Publication and Communication
• Provide media liaison assistance with Special Projects.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge and understanding of Government communications.
• Project Management in terms of planning and meeting deadlines.
• Good command of official South African languages including English and another language.
• Knowledge of Public Financial Management Act, Public Service Regulations.
• Knowledge of Public Access to Information Act.

• 2 years' experience in media liaison and media monitoring.
