About the position
JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this role is to maintain and modify, install and repair plant and machinery where necessary. May inspect plant or production area and report faults to the Artisan Foreman to assist in scheduling maintenance or repairs as required to minimise loss of production. May be an Artisan in more than one trade e.g. Electrical/Mechanical.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Maintenance:
- Preventative maintenance activities.
- Engineering out maintenance (Try and reduce cost and down time).
- Standby duties.
Planning:
- Execute maintenance strategies.
- Schedule compliance with job cards etc. manually completed.
- Execute jobs allocated via job cards during shutdown.
Cost control:
- Report on defective or machinery that requires attention to avoid massive costs.
- Cost control management of materials, time and labour.
People:
- Skills transfer, supervision.
- Compliance to own training matrix.
- Adherence to PDP.

About The Employer:
Our client based in Cape Town is looking to acquire an experienced MIG WELDER/BOILERMAKER for their site based in Cape Town. The successful candidate should possesses the following skills and experience:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years' experience within an Artisan (Welder/Mechanical) function within a manufacturing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- NQF level 4 or equivalent
- Completed Trade Test (Red Seal Certificate)
- 3 Phase Qualification
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & KNOWLEDGE:
- Root Cause Analysis
- Proficiency in welding
