Client based in Mpumalanga seeks the services of Appointed Person.

Role Summary/Purpose:

• Process Monitoring and Control:
  • Must have been authorised regulations to be responsible for Determining appropriate and effective isolations for the anticipated work to be earned out safely.
  • Ensuring that the 1solat1on and de-1solat1on on the plant covered by a permit to work 1s effectively earned out taking health and safety precautions into account.
  • Issuing of prepared permits once all the associated test certificates are available and the required risk assessments have been presented to the appointed person by the responsible person for review 1n terms of these regulations.
  
  


• Communication and Reporting:
  
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding equipment availability, production progress, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of all permits.
  
  


• Safety Compliance:
  
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with PSR and ORHVS.
  
  


• Shift Handover:
  
  • Communicate important information to incoming shift Operators and Appointed Persons during shift changes to maintain continuity of operations.
  
  

 
Qualification/Requirements:
 
·       Must have an active Eskom PSR and ORHVS authorisation as an Appointed Person.
·        N4,N5N6/National Diploma/B-Tech/Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Degree in Engineering with minimum 2 years’ experience as Appointed Person
 
 
Desired Characteristics:
 
 
·        Experience: Proven experience as a Authorised Person or in a relevant position in Power Plant.
·        Equipment Handling: Familiarity with operating pumps, compressors, tanks and conveyor belts
·        Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety measures, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety,) systems, and best practices within a process plant.
·        Physical Condition: Excellent physical condition and endurance.
·        Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and word systems.
