Accounting Graduate

About the position

Our client, an independent South African financial services group, focused on the provision of products and services to retirement funds, corporates, individuals, and other licensed entities within the financial sector, is seeking a dynamic, passionate newly qualified graduate to join their small dynamic team. The successful candidate will report to the operations team leader and form part of the operations team.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end close process relating to journal entries, bank and account reconciliations.
• Support the team with preparing and delivering regulatory, compliance and audit requirements.
• Support the operational finance team by monitoring, performing reconciliations and following up as needed.
• Capture and process accounting transactions/journal entries day-to-day.
• Involvement in special projects that span various functions within finance and operations.
• Engaging and reporting (incl. reconciliation of fees) with the outsourced administrator.
• Assist in the collection of data in preparation of the annual financial statements.
• Assist with bank account opening, scrip account opening, local and offshore.
• Monitoring and responding to queries in our dedicated mailboxes

Qualification:

• BCom or similar degree/diploma.
