Accountant

About the position

Join a pioneering organisation with over 40 years in developing and managing rural retail spaces across South Africa, with a portfolio of 26 premium assets. The company currently requires a Senior Accountant with extensive property industry experience to join a team on the forefront of our nation's economic development.
Duties / Job Requirements:

• FULL Accounting function including, bookkeeping, cashbook and creditors.
• Maintain Fixed Assets Register and depreciation
• Maintain Amortisation schedules
• Account reconciliations
• Solid knowledge of MDA / MRI Property Systems
• Must be able to do management accounts and monthly KPI and management reports
• Cash flow report, income statement, balance sheet etc.
• Monthly VAT returns and annual VAT reconciliations
• Year-end Journals and Preparation for Audit of listed company
• Drafting of Annual Financial Statements
• Company TAX calculations and submissions

Requirements:

• Min 5 years’ experience in accounting
• B Com degree, a 3year Diploma in Accounting or alternatively extensive experience in accounting
• Must be able to work on her/his own and meet deadlines in a listed environment.
• Clear ITC and good work references
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal command of English. Afrikaans is advantageous.
