About the position

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances, and providing analysis to support decision-making.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including the timely submission of tax returns and payments.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits, liaising with auditors as required.
  • Payroll Processing: Coordinate payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • SAGE Accounting: Utilize SAGE Accounting software to manage financial transactions, generate reports, and streamline [URL Removed]

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Completed articles with a recognized accounting firm (SAICA/SAIPA).
  • 5 years of experience in the logistics industry
  • Proficiency in SAGE Accounting software.
  • Advanced Excel skills, i.e. V LOOK UP and Pivot tables
  • Strong understanding of South African tax regulations and accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
